DoomBlock ("the app", "we", "us") is a screen-time and app/website blocking app published by Bros Dolz LLC. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@brosdolz.com.
Data we collect
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To create and sign in to your account and secure your cloud backup. | Stored by our authentication/database provider, Supabase. |
| Google account (email & basic profile) — only if you sign in with Google | To authenticate you without a separate password. | Provided by Google Sign-In; used to create your account with Supabase. |
| App settings, your block lists (apps, websites, keywords you choose to block), and your streak/progress record | To back up your setup and sync it across your devices when you sign in. | Stored in your account with Supabase. |
| On-device app-usage data (which app is in the foreground, time spent) | To enforce your blocks and show you your own usage statistics. | Processed on your device to make blocking work. It is not sold or used for advertising. |
| Advertising identifier & ad-related data | To show ads that keep the app free. | Collected by Google AdMob. See "Advertising" below. |
Advertising
DoomBlock shows ads through Google AdMob. Depending on your region and consent choice, ads may be personalized or non-personalized; AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads. You can review Google's handling of this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We do not sell your personal data.
Permissions the app requests
DoomBlock is an app blocker, so it asks for some sensitive permissions. Each is used only for the purpose below:
- Accessibility service — detects which app is currently in the foreground so a block can be enforced. It does not read, store, or transmit the contents of your screen.
- Usage access — measures time spent in apps to power your limits and statistics.
- Display over other apps — shows the blocking screen on top of a blocked app.
- Device admin (optional, only if you turn on "Prevent Uninstall") — stops the app being uninstalled while a block is active. You can turn this off at any time.
- Notifications & run in background — keeps the blocking service alive and shows its ongoing notification.
Third parties
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:
- Supabase — authentication and cloud database (your account & backup).
- Google — Google Sign-In, Google Play services, and AdMob (ads).
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account data until you delete your account. You can delete it at any time inside the app (Settings → your account → Delete account), which permanently removes your account and cloud backup and resets the app on your device. You can also request deletion without the app — see our Account Deletion page.
Children
DoomBlock is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 18 and over.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
