Privacy Policy

DoomBlock is a screen-time, app and website blocking app for Android, published by Bros Dolz LLC. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@brosdolz.com.

Data we collect

Subscription data: your Google Play purchase token and the product you bought	To confirm your subscription is genuine and still active.	Sent to our server function, which verifies it with Google Play. Google Play handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details.
On-device app-usage data (which app is in the foreground, time spent in each app)	To enforce your blocks and limits, and to show you your own statistics.	Stays on your device. It is not uploaded, not sold, and not used for advertising.
Web addresses and in-app page text	To detect a blocked website or keyword and show the block screen.	Compared against your block list on your device and discarded straight after the check. Never stored, never transmitted.

What DoomBlock does not do

No advertising. DoomBlock shows no ads, contains no advertising SDK, and does not collect a device advertising identifier.
No analytics. There is no analytics SDK and no automatic crash-reporting service in the app.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.
Problem reports are yours to send. If you use the in-app "report a problem" option, it opens your email app with a message you can read and edit first. It contains the app version, your device model and Android version, and a short log of recent in-app events. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

Permissions the app requests

DoomBlock is an app blocker, so it asks for some sensitive permissions. Each is used only for the purpose below:

Accessibility service. Enabled only after you accept a separate on-screen disclosure, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility. It collects three things:
- Which app is currently in the foreground, so a block can be enforced the moment a blocked app opens.
- Web browsing history. The web address (URL) shown in your browser's address bar, so that blocked websites and keywords can be detected. Only a page you have actually opened is checked; what you type into the address bar is not.
- The text of web pages opened inside other apps, if you turn on blocking inside other apps' built-in browsers, so the same block list applies there.
All three are used for one purpose only: to compare them against the apps, websites and keywords you chose to block, and to show a block screen when something matches. This happens entirely on your device and the data is discarded immediately after the check. We never store your browsing history, never transmit it off your device, and never share or sell it. The service does not read your messages, your passwords, or what you type.
Usage access. Measures time spent in apps, to power your session limits and your statistics.
Display over other apps. Shows the block screen on top of a blocked app.
Notifications, background running and battery-optimisation exemption. Keeps the blocking service alive with its ongoing notification, so blocking is not silently killed by the system.
Device admin (optional, only if you turn on Strict Mode). Prevents DoomBlock being uninstalled while a block is active. It is used for nothing else: DoomBlock never locks your device, wipes it, disables the camera, or otherwise controls it. You can turn it off at any time.

Third parties

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:

Supabase. Authentication and cloud database, for your account and your backup.
Google. Google Sign-In, Google Play services, and Google Play Billing for subscriptions.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data until you delete your account. You can delete it at any time inside the app (Settings → your account → Delete account), which permanently removes your account and your cloud backup and resets the app on your device. You can also request deletion without the app. See our Account Deletion page.

Deleting your account does not cancel your Google Play subscription. Cancel that separately in the Play Store.

Children

DoomBlock is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 18 and over.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

AI disclosure

DoomBlock was built with the help of AI-assisted development tools. This does not change what data the app collects or how it is handled; those practices are described above.
